Two-factor sign-in
Updated
Every VoidForge account uses two-factor sign-in: your password, plus a code from an authenticator app on your phone. It keeps your data, and anything your corporation shares, yours.
Set it up
- After creating your account, open your authenticator app and add VoidForge by scanning the code on the screen, or by entering the key shown.
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app and select Confirm and turn on.
- Save your 10 recovery codes somewhere safe, then select I've saved my codes.
Signing in
Each time you sign in, VoidForge asks for a code from your app. On a browser you trust, tick Don't ask again on this browser for 30 days. To make every browser ask again, go to Account settings › Two-factor sign-in and select Forget all browsers.
Recovery codes
A recovery code signs you in once in place of a code from your app. Account settings shows how many you have left. To get new ones, enter a code from your app and select New recovery codes; the old ones stop working.
If you lose your phone
- Sign in on the website with one of your recovery codes, then set up your new phone.
- If you've lost your recovery codes too, ask a VoidForge admin to reset two-factor for your account. You set it up again the next time you sign in.
The Android app only takes the 6-digit codes from your authenticator app. See The Android app.
