Station Trading
Station Trading finds items you can profit from by trading at a trade hub, or by moving them between hubs.
Three ways to trade
| Mode | How you trade | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| Local | Place buy orders low and sell orders high at the same station, and profit from the spread | Medium: prices can move while your orders are up |
| Instant | Buy from sell orders at one hub, haul, and sell straight to buy orders at another | Low, with smaller margins |
| Speculative | Buy at one hub, haul, and list sell orders at another | High: you wait for buyers and compete with other sellers |
Scan the market
- Choose Local and a trade hub, then select Scan Market. Scanning a hub's whole market takes a few minutes; the progress shows as it goes.
- For Instant or Speculative, scan each hub you trade between on Local first, then select Scan All Routes.
The hub starts as the one you chose in Settings › Prices (Jita if you chose the Estimated Price). Select an item on Local for its spread and the last 7 days of prices.
- Instant counts how long the haul takes and shows ISK/hr.
- Speculative lists items at the destination's lowest sell price, buying no more than 3 days of what sells there, and shows a Risk score.
Fees and filters
Open the settings button to set your Broker fee (%) and Sales tax (%). They start at 3% and 3.6%; set them to what your Broker Relations and Accounting skills give. Profits are worked out with your own fees: Local pays the broker fee on both orders and sales tax on the sale, Instant places no orders so pays sales tax only, and Speculative pays the broker fee for the sell order you list and sales tax.
The same settings hold the minimum net margin, minimum daily volume and most competing orders for Local, and whether routes between hubs prefer high-sec or the shortest path. Trading filters picks categories and meta levels, and for hauling the most cargo you can carry.
Station Trading doesn't read your characters' skills or standings, so set the fees to match the character you'll trade with.
