Market Analysis

Updated

Market Analysis works out what each blueprint costs to build and what the product sells for, so you can see what's worth manufacturing. It uses one character's blueprints and skills: choose the character with Character in the top bar.

Set up a calculation

  1. In Manufacturing configuration, set your structure, rig, the system's security, facility tax, how many days of stock to build, the system you manufacture in, and the Sell market (the region whose prices you use).
  2. In Blueprint filters, choose All Blueprints (every blueprint in EVE, as originals at ME 10) or My Blueprints (the character's own, plus T2 items it could invent), and pick tech levels, categories, and for your own blueprints originals or copies.
  3. Select Calculate Profitability.

Results are sorted by Net (Sell); select a heading to sort by something else. Hover Cost/Item or Trade ROI for the breakdown. Your settings are remembered on this browser.

Refresh market data

Market data shows when each kind of data was last read, and how often to refresh it:

DataWhat it isRefresh
BlueprintsThe character's blueprints with their ME and TEWeekly
Cost IndicesEach system's cost index for job installationDaily
VolumeHow much of each item tradesDaily
PricesEVE's adjusted prices, used for job costsEvery 5–30 minutes
Market OrdersLive buy and sell prices in the market you sell inEvery 5–15 minutes

Select Refresh All Data, or refresh one row. Volume and market orders are read for the products and materials of the character's own blueprints. If you calculate for a market that hasn't been read yet, VoidForge reads it first and then calculates.

Market Analysis needs EVE's game data, which a VoidForge admin loads. If it hasn't been loaded, the page says so.

How costs and profit are worked out

  • Materials: each material's quantity after the blueprint's ME and your structure and rig bonuses, at the lowest sell price in the market you sell in. All Blueprints assumes ME 10; My Blueprints uses each blueprint's real ME.
  • Job cost: the item's estimated value × (the manufacturing system's cost index + facility tax + the 4% SCC surcharge).
  • Sale price: the lowest sell order (Net (Sell)) and the highest buy order (Net (Buy)) in the market you sell in.
Mfg ROI = (sell price after fees − cost per item) ÷ cost per item

Suggested Runs builds the days of stock you chose at the item's average daily sales over the last 30 days. Vol (30d) is what sold in those 30 days.

Profits take off the sales tax and broker fee the character's Accounting and Broker Relations skills give: Net (Sell) lists the product as a sell order (broker fee and sales tax), and Net (Buy) sells straight to the highest buy order (sales tax only). Trade ROI is the profit from buying the item at the highest buy and selling at the lowest sell, with the same fees.

T2 and invention

For T2 items, the cost includes inventing the blueprint copy: datacores, any decryptor, and the copy and invention jobs, divided by the chance of success from your skills and the decryptor, and by the runs and output of the invented copy. In T2 invention settings, pick a decryptor and use the character's skills or set them by hand. The sparkle button on a T2 row compares every decryptor by ROI and by ISK per hour.

To keep an eye on a result, save it as a build. See Saved Builds.
